Why a Osteopath
Osteopathy helps to reduce inflamed tissue by a number of methods and techniques ranging from massage of the soft tissue, gentle manipulation and mobilisation of joints - to a system of more subtle treatment known as Cranial Osteopathy.
Osteopathic treatment is aimed at helping to reduce pain, muscle spasm and increase mobility helping to create a normal anatomical environment in which damaged tissue (joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, etc.) can heal.
The skilled techniques of Osteopathy, which may be applied and adapted in various ways to take into account the age, general health and condition of the patient (i.e. pregnant patients, patients in acute pain, etc.) can allow you a speedy return to normality. Treatment is aimed to reduce pain, discomfort and allow relief from your symptoms. There are times when it is wise for you to take medications as well as receiving Osteopathic treatment. Osteopathy frequently work in close co-operation with your GP.
